Check Out Weekly Shot!

I ran across this very nice photo blog while touring another, isn't that the way it usually happens? Very interesting, the idea of an "invited" group of photographers who contribute to a weekly subject, theme or idea. Very good work. To check out the Weekly Shot click here.

An Employment Opportunity!

As I've said in previous posts, my hometown, Phoenix, Arizona is home to some of the worlds finest photographers and Michael Woodall's web site certainly makes my point. His site showcases some great images and some excellent Photoshop work. Michael is looking for an assistant with Photoshop skills to help with an increasing workload, and he's willing to help train the right person. You can contact Michael at 602-821-5572 or click here to go to his web site.

NASA Kicks It Up A Notch - Mars As Art!

"Spacecraft have imaged the surface of the planet Mars for nearly four decades, providing insights into the history, climate and geology of our nearest neighbor. This exhibition showcases selected images returned by spacecraft from NASA and European Space Agency, which have been selected for their aesthetic rather than scientific value. These images are actual images of Mars, taken from orbit and from the surface by spacecraft that have visited there.

Five thousand images were nominated by scientist; forty-five were selected by a panel of professional artists, photographers, and photo editors. Every successful Mars mission since Viking is represented in this collection."

Adobe Gets A Tip Of The Hat!

Three weeks ago I spent most of one afternoon and part of the evening trying to get Premiere Pro 2.0 to install and run correctly on my computer. After hours, of well intentioned but unproductive help, my Adobe Technical Support person said, " If you'd like, I can turn you over to a Customer Service Representative who can help process a refund for you". Say what?

Adobe is one of the few, perhaps the only, software company that will give you a full refund on a software product after it has been opened. Even more astonishing to me was the fact that my refund was coming from Adobe even though my purchase had been made through Amazon. There are certain forms to fill out and send to Adobe but, all in all, the process is fairly painless. I was told my refund check would be coming in the usual 6 to 8 weeks. It made it in three.

I've always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with Adobe. I love their products but in the past have been not been very impressed with Customer Service. Well, chalk one up for the CS group. I don't know how I could have been treated more fairly or received better service. They get a tip of the hat and a hearty well done.

BTW, they got the money back. I bought Premiere Elements 3, which is working great, and the latest version of Acrobat. To check out Adobe's latest offerings click here.

Check Out Christopher Kilkus!

Sometimes clicking on the wrong link isn't such a bad thing. I ran across Christopher's web site while looking for another photographer.

Very nice images, beautiful ladies and a rather unique style. I especially like the way he groups the images in each section of his portfolio. Check him out.
